Here below the updated information for travelling to and from abroad:

Validity of regulation: The provisions remain in force until August 30, 2021.

List A
Vatican City and Republic of San Marino

No limitations

List B
The States and territories with low epidemiological risk will be identified, among those in List C, by the Ordinance adopted pursuant to article 6, paragraph 2.

– Movements to and from these countries are allowed without any certification of motivation for travelling.

– There are certain restrictions on entry into Italy in the case of transit or residence in List C countries during the 14 days prior to entry into Italy.

– There is not the obligation of fiduciary isolation, neither the obligation to undergo molecular or antigenic testing upon entry into the Italian national territory, unless in the 14 days prior to entry into Italy one has transited or stayed in countries of List D and List E. The obligation to complete a self-declaration form remains.

At present, no State is included on this list

 

List C
Austria,  Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland), Estonia, Finland, France (including Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Reunion, Mayotte and excluding other territories outside the European mainland), Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands (excluding territories outside the European mainland), Poland, Portugal (including the Azores and Madeira), Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra, Principality of Monaco, Israel.

Entry Restrictions:
Under Italian law, travel to/from these countries is permitted without the need for a specific reason.

Restrictions apply in case of transit or stay in List D and/or List E countries during the 14 days prior to entry into Italy.

Compliance:
For all those who have stayed or transited in the fourteen days preceding entry into Italy in one or more of the States and territories referred to in List C of Annex 20, the legislation provides that re-entry into Italy is compulsory:

1) Produce a certificate proving that:
– that you have completed the prescribed anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination cycle at least 14 days ago
or
– that you have recovered from COVID-19 (the certificate of recovery is valid for 180 days from the date of the first positive swab)
or
– that you have taken a negative molecular or antigen swab test in the 48 hours prior to entering Italy. Children under 6 years of age are exempt from the pre-departure swab test.

2) Complete the digital Passenger Locator Form: https://app.euplf.eu/#/form

In the event of failure to produce the above certificate, passengers are subject to the following preventive measures:

– 5 days of self-isolation at the address provided in the digital Passenger Locator Form
– Swab test at the end of the ten-day isolation period.

List D
Albania, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, Emirates, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand,Qatar, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Republic of Korea, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Singapore, United States, Ukraine, Taiwan, special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao.

Entry Restrictions
Under Italian law, travel to and from these countries is permitted without the need for a specific reason (subject to the limitations set out in Italy at regional level). The removal of travel restrictions from Italy to some countries does not exclude that these countries may still impose entry restrictions.

There are certain restrictions on entry into Italy in the case of transit or residence in List E countries, during the 14 days prior to entry into Italy

Compliance
When returning to Italy, if you have stayed in/transited through these countries in the previous 14 days, you must:

1) undergo a molecular or antigenic swab carried out within 72 hours prior to entry into Italy and the result of which is negative (48 hrs if travelling from the UK)

2) Complete the digital Passenger Locator Form: https://app.euplf.eu/#/form

3) undergo fiduciary isolation and health surveillance for 5 days.

4) undergo an additional molecular or antigenic swab at the end of the 5-day isolation period.

For those who are coming or have been transited during the previous 14 days in Canada, Japan and United States the following condition will apply:

1) Complete the digital Passenger Locator Form: https://app.euplf.eu/#/form

2) Produce a certificate proving that:
– that you have completed the prescribed anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination cycle at least 14 days ago
or
– that you have recovered from COVID-19 (the certificate of recovery is valid for 180 days from the date of the first positive swab)
or
– that you have taken a negative molecular or antigen swab test in the 48 hours prior to entering Italy. Children under 6 years of age are exempt from the pre-departure swab test.

List E
All States and territories not specifically mentioned in other lists.

Travel to/from the rest of the world is only allowed for specific reasons, such as:

– work
– health reasons
– study reasons
– absolute urgency
– return to one’s domicile, home, or residence.

Travelling for tourism is therefore not yet permitted. 

Compliance
When returning to Italy, if you have stayed in/transited through these countries in the previous 14 days, you must:

1) undergo a molecular or antigenic swab carried out within 72 hours prior to entry into Italy and the result of which is negative

2) Complete the digital Passenger Locator Form: https://app.euplf.eu/#/form

3) undergo fiduciary isolation and health surveillance for 10 days.

4) undergo an additional molecular or antigenic swab at the end of the 10-day isolation period.

The certification of successful completion of the vaccination cycle must relate to one of the four vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency: Comirnaty from Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Vaxzevria, Jansen (Johnson & Johnson).
